Yes. Amazon requires a valid GTIN (EAN-13, UPC-A or ISBN) for most listings, and Shopify stores products' barcode field for EAN-13, UPC and ISBN. For your own Shopify store the generated code works right away; for Amazon, the number itself should be a GTIN registered with GS1 if the listing requires validation.
