1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using GeraCode (www.geracodigo.com.br), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not use the service.

2. Description of the Service

GeraCode is a set of free online tools for generating barcodes (EAN-13, Code 128, UPC-A, and other formats), QR codes, scanning barcodes and QR codes, and generating SKUs. Not every tool is available in the English version of the site yet — see the homepage for what's currently live in English. Every tool processes data exclusively in your browser (client-side), without sending any information to external servers.

3. Permitted Use

You may use GeraCode to:

  • Generate barcodes for internal use, your own e-commerce store, testing, and prototypes
  • Generate QR codes for links, text, and other content
  • Scan barcodes and QR codes using your device's camera
  • Generate SKU codes for inventory organization

4. Limitations

  • EAN/UPC codes for retail: to sell products through retail networks, barcodes typically need to be registered with your local GS1 member organization (e.g. GS1 US, GS1 UK). GeraCode does not replace official registration.
  • No warranty: the service is provided "as is," with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability or fitness for any particular purpose.

5. Intellectual Property

The source code, design, copy, and GeraCode brand belong to the project. Codes generated by users (barcodes, QR codes, SKUs) belong entirely to the user who created them.

6. Security

GeraCode implements the following security measures:

  • HTTPS: all communication is encrypted via TLS/SSL
  • Content Security Policy (CSP): restricts script execution to authorized domains
  • Local processing: sensitive data never travels over the network
  • No signup: no user account is ever created or stored

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Significant changes will be announced via a notice on the site. Continued use of GeraCode after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
